Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: King of Prussia Contract: Full-time employee Start: 04.05.2026

Your tasks

The Entry-Level Mechanical Design Engineer performs mechanical design and engineering activities for ZETA’s biopharmaceutical client projects. This role assists in the design and development of process systems including upstream, downstream, plasma fractionation, ADC manufacturing, and cell and gene therapy applications.

Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the Mechanical Design Engineer contributes to CAD modeling, drafting, and documentation tasks in compliance with GMP design principles and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creation of 3D models, assemblies, and mechanical system designs. .
  • Develop P&IDs, 2D layouts, specifications, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation
  • Ensure designs comply with GMP, ASME BPE, and relevant engineering standards.
  • Participate in design reviews and engineering discussions.
  • Technical documentation development (BOMs, drawings, specifications).
  • Coordinate with fabrication and manufacturing teams as needed.
  • Learn and apply GMP, ASME BPE and sanitary design principles.
 

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience (internships/co-ops accepted).
  • Basic proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD tools (Comos, PDMS, and AVEVA E3D preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and spatial reasoning
  • Motivation, accountability, and a desire to grow technical and managerial skills.
  • Ability to follow engineering processes and work under guidance.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements 

  • Hybrid work model with three onsite days per week at the King of Prussia office.
  • Travel up to 15%, including domestic and international assignments as needed for project execution, FAT/SAT, or client support.
  • Ability to work in an office, client sites, and manufacturing environments as needed.
