Technical Sales Manager / Business Development Manager

Location: King of Prussia Contract: Vollzeit Start: As of now

Your tasks

  • Responsibility and accountability for allocated territory and customer relationships within it
  • Coordination and implementation of sales activities in accordance with SOPs
  • Realization of strategic sales and business targets and goals set for area of responsibility
  • Prospect for new business by identifying and seeking out key contacts at target customers to initiate interest in ZETA
  • Identify potential projects of interest to ZETA to secure our participation
  • Increase awareness and acceptance of ZETA in the marketplace within the area of responsibility
  • Be the main contact person – the “face of ZETA” – for customers in assigned territory
  • Respond rapidly to requests and queries
  • Attempt to resolve customer issues immediately
  • Ensure support of ongoing projects, in terms of sales, for the whole duration
  • Responsibility for after sales support
  • Identify and participate in relevant exhibitions and tradeshows
  • Take the role of a “hunter” to maximize new customer acquisition and build sales pipeline
  • Participate in tender negotiations
  • Support for business development activities in new markets
  • Observation and identification of new trends and technologies and understand their application
  • Benchmarking in relation to competitors and analysis of their position and chances in the contract award process
  • Extensive networking with customers, A&E companies, building companies, competitors, and suppliers
  • Participation in target and budget setting activities for area of responsibility
  • Improvement of information flow at internal and external interfaces
 

Your profile

  • At least 5 years’ sales experience, supplying complex solutions, in the Pharma bioprocessing/biomanufacturing industry (preferably in an engineering discipline)
  • Professionally, commercially and/or technical trained (preferably in an engineering discipline)
  • Degree educated in an engineering, bioprocessing, biotechnology or life sciences discipline
  • Possesses a sound knowledge of mechanical and/or process engineering of biopharmaceutical plants
  • Comprehensive IT skills in MS-Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and CRM systems
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English (any German would be very beneficial)
  • A keen sense of integrity, responsibility, self-motivation, team spirit, flexibility, accuracy, quality awareness, target orientation and co-operation
  • Able to use own initiative, be confident to act upon it and be accountable for the results
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously or as part of a cross-functional team
  • Adept at making long-standing, value added relationships
  • A committed and tenacious self-starter with a desire to succeed
  • Patient and resilient with a long-term outlook
  • Diligent with demonstrable analytical abilities
  • Self-assured and comfortable working in customer-facing situations
  • Flexible approach to working hours and times
  • Comfortable with frequent, and sometimes prolonged, domestic and international travel
  • Willing to contribute and share best practice as well as learning new skills and techniques
